Media Diary: Day 5

Woke up at 9:30 this morning, which was not fun for me.  No media until listening to Gamescoop on the bus over to campus.  About halfway there I finished and switched over to the Giant Bombcast (yet another video game podcast).

Got to campus at 11 and before I could interact with anything in my office hours, I went down to get Krishna lunch with some of the people in the office.

At 12:45 pm I went into the computer lab in the office and checked my email.  I then started to write a reaction paper for my theory class.  Finished that at 1:45 and emailed it to my professor.  I then watched a couple video reviews for the new Castlevania game on IGN, Gamespot, and Gametrailers (all gaming websites).  I then got a text from my friend to meet downstairs, and then I headed to my apartment.

At home I watched The Great Debate on VH1 from 3:30 to 4.  Then I put Resident Evil 2, a classic Playstation 1 game, into my Playstation 3 and enjoyed late 90’s bliss from about 4 to 6.  Then it was off to Southwest Rec Center.

At the gym I did the treadmill and the stationary bike, listening to more of the Giant Bombcast from about 7 to 8.  Then I went back home.

The apartment was empty, so I dragged out my drum set and played Rock Band 2 on my Xbox 360 from 8:30 to 9:30.  The next hour was spent on AIM teaching my friend how to install Civilization V on his computer, and talking to my other friend who was helping his brother do the same thing.  I spent the next hour price checking things on Amazon and ebay, reading movie reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and IGN for The Social Network and Let Me In (also watched the red band trailer for the latter of those movies… so psyched).

My roommates came back from their exam at 11 pm and we all talked for awhile.  Then me an one of them watched Hulu Plus on the Playstation 3 to catch up on the latest episodes of Modern Family and Glee.  This was my first episode of Glee, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.  Really happy John Stamos’ comeback is going strong.  I then decided to round out my day’s media experience with this post.  Voila.

  1. You really fill up every minute of the day! You do a lot of different stuff, including a lot of f2f social stuff.

What I wondered while reading this was, what happened when you went to the gym? Like, did you have an alarm set? Or you just suddenly quit playing Resident Evil 2 and went to work out? That kind of surprised me.
